We are looking for a front-end web developer to join our tech team. We're looking for someone who has 3+ years' experience and strong proficiency with HTML/CSS and JavaScript. Although this position won't include creative/design work, having an eye for detail would be desirable. Basic responsibilities will include turning user-interface and design specifications into a working front-end interface. Please be local to the New York area.

Required Skills - by-hand, standards-compliant HTML/CSS
- thorough knowledge of JavaScript
- experience with a JavaScript framework (Prototype, jQuery, dojo, etc)
- thorough knowledge of CSS (positioning, z-index, etc)
- interest in UI design / graphic design
- understanding of cross-browser / cross-platform issues
- basic knowledge of a server-side scripting language (like perl, ruby, php, etc)
Optional Skills - proficiency with Photoshop (or GIMP, etc.)
- proficiency with Illustrator (or Inkscape, etc.)
- ImageMagick / GD
- understanding of internationalization / character encoding issues
- any of <canvas> / SVG / Flash / VML
- graphic design experience
- familiarity with Linux command line and text editors
